![]() Track 3 ‘Scourge of Iron’ is a serious highlight of this album and the most different song. Next, ‘Sarcophagic Frenzy’ is another good one which slows down the tempo with some crushing riffs with an evil guitar melody over the top and contrasts this with very technical in-your-face single note riffs with an interesting non-chaotic solo section. ‘Demented Aggression’ starts the album off with a more Thrash Metal vibe filled with plenty of Death Metalisms to make it Cannibal Corpse, and is a high energy, fast tempo track to start the journey off well. Every instrument is heard clearly in the mix, and despite the very distorted guitar tones there is still clarity articulation in the notes. This album is also produced by Erik Rutan like the prior two records which equates to fantastic production quality. The band achieve this by their great musicianship and by splitting the composition of songs between members, so each member writing style can shine through. Much like ‘Evisceration Plague’, the track list has much appreciated variety between the songs which makes them individually identifiable rather easily. ![]() This album perfectly continues where previous album ‘Evisceration Plague’ left off, and is arguably a better album overall. Once again Cannibal Corpse hit the mark by improving musically when transitioning from album to album when ‘Torture’ was released.
